In the July 29 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 52 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 52 new cases there are 9 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North Central zone, 3 in the Far North East zone, 6 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 9 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 6 in the Regina zone, and 5 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There are 5 new cases with residence pending information.

One case with location pending was assigned to the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,882, of which 412 are considered active.

There are currently 3 active cases in the South West zone- all in the South West subzone 1.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 44 (3.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are no new deaths reported, keeping that provincial total at 578.

There are 16 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,892.

There are 43 people in the hospital. This is the lowest number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients since November 9, 2020. There are 34 people receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 15 in the Saskatoon zone, 11 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 9 people in intensive care - 1 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

To date, 958,748 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,564 COVID-19 tests processed.

No new lineage results for variants of concern were reported.

Of the 8,050 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,041 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 573 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 426 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered to 1,400,844.

Of the 6,019 vaccine doses given, there were 99 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-five percent of those 12 and older have received their first vaccine dose, and 63% of those 12 and under are fully vaccinated.
