Hodgeville is having their 5th annual The Night Jesus Was Born event this weekend at the community centre.

Members from around the community and surrounding area have banded together to produce a unique display right in time for the beginning of the Christmas season.

"It's a display of over 500 nativity scenes. And what makes it so cool is that the nativity scenes come from contributers from the surrounding area," said Karen Bonesky, volunteer with the event.

The community has been putting on this event for 5 years and every year there are more scenes added.

"They are so unique in their artistic design, the materials they are made of they are so diverse and each of them has a story whether they were handed down from a family member or hand crafted they are absolutely amazing," said Bonesky.

The event runs from 10am to 9pm on Saturday as well as 10am to 6pm on Sunday at the Hodgeville Community Centre in Hodgeville.
