In the October 27 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 223 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 223 cases there are 15 in the Far North West zone, 9 in the Far North East zone 18 in the North West zone, 18 in the North Central zone, 3 in the North East zone, 54 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 23 in the Central East zone, 35 in the Regina zone, 5 in the South Central zone, and 24 in the South East zone.

There are  3 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 2 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 15 new cases with pending residence information.

Fifteen cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 4 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the Far North East zone, 3 to the North West zone, 2 to the Central East zone, 4 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South East zone.

Over one-quarter (27.8%) of new cases are in the 11 and under age category.

Almost one-third (31.1%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and up) were fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 235 (19.5 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 76,830, of which 2,440 are considered active.

There are 58 active cases in the South West zone - 29 in the South West subzone 1, and 29 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 316 recoveries reported, 4 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 73,558.

There are 5 new deaths reported, 1 of them in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of deaths to 832.

There are 271 people in the hospital - 214 receiving inpatient care, and 57 in intensive care.

Of those 271 patients, 194 (71.6%) were not fully vaccinated.

Four additional cases were transferred to Ontario, for a total of 16 Saskatchewan cases transferred out of the province.

To date, 1,216,852 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 2,608 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

Of the 13,824 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), and 6,207 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

Yesterday there were 2.985 COVID-19 vaccines administered, 68 of those given in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations to 1,652,625.

There are now 785,377 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
