Part of the July first Canada Day celebrations in Shaunavon included the Grand Opening of the new Splash Park.

A crowd of people  gathered for free bottled water and freezies to watch of official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Shaunavon Mayor, and Chairman of the Perk Up Our Parks Committee, Kyle Bennett, said the Splash Park is a great addition to Jubilee Park, and especially wanted to thank everyone who has worked so hard over the past years to make it a reality, as well as to their sponsors.

'Very appreciative of all our sponsors. Like I said, everybodys donated one way or another with their time, money, everything. So we do appreciate all our sponsors."

Sponsors in attendance who also spoke at the ribbon cutting were Richard Goulet on behalf of Affinity Credit Union, and Corey Larson from Surge Energy.

The Splash Park is open daily from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
