In the September 21 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 372 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 372 new cases there are 9 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North Central zone, 41 in the Far North East zone, 42 in the North West zone, 46 in the North Central zone, 11 in the North East zone, 50 in the Saskatoon zone, 13 in the Central West zone, 17 in the Central East zone, 49 in the Regina zone, 14 in the South Central zone, and 18 in the South East zone.

There are 14 new confirmed cases reported in the South West zone - 4 in the South West subzone 1, and 10 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 45 new cases with pending residence information.

Twenty cases with pending residence information have been reassigned as follows - 2 to the Far North West zone, 4 to the North West zone, 2 to the North East zone, 1 to the Central East zone, 2 to the Saskatoon zone, and 9 to the South Central zone.

Three cases were removed - 1 from the North West zone, and 2 were determined to be non-Saskatchewan residents and removed from cases pending residence information.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 62,989, of which 4,700 are considered active.

There are 157 active cases in the South West zone - 57 in the South West subzone 1, and 100 in the South West subzone 2.

Over one-fourth (29.8%) of new cases are in the 20-39 age category.

Approximately one in five (19.5%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 474 (39.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 5 new deaths  reported, bringing that provincial total to 646.

There are 336 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 57,643.

There are 262 people in the hospital - 208 receiving inpatient care, and 54 in intensive care.

Of the 262 patients, 193 (73.7%) were not fully vaccinated.

New outbreaks listed by the SHA in the South West zone include Cypress Lodge in Maple Creek, Victory Family Church in Swift Current, and Simpson Seeds in Swift Current.

In non-household settings, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

Of the 10,913 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 482 are Gamma (P.1), and 3, 298 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

To date, 1,098,415 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 3,741 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 840 COVID-19 vaccinations given yesterday, 41 of them in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccines administered to 1,523,549.

There are now 719,392 residents that are fully vaccinated.
