Tonight's the night to leave your outside porch light on and support The Royal Canadian Legion, Shaunavon Branch, as they hold their Annual Poppy Drive.

Legion members, with help from  the Shaunavon High School girls volleyball team, will be going door to door selling poppies and raising money starting at five thirty.

Deb Aadland is the Co -Chair of the Poppy Drive. She says last year their Poppy Drive raised a total of $2500, and they're hoping to do even better this year. She talked about where a portion of the funds will go. "We're actually looking at putting some lifts in  The Shaunavon Hospital and also The Eastend Care Center. They're wanting lifts so the more money you raise the more money that goes towards that kind of thing."

Aadland says next week The Grand Coteau Center in Shaunavon will have the schools Remembrance Day posters from all around the southwest area on display and people can come in and vote for their favorite.

Poppy boxes have already been distributed to businesses around the southwest as well, as the Legion prepares for their Annual Remembrance Day Service and Banquet on November 11.
