The Shaunavon Silver Blades Figure Skating Club held their end of the season Carnival last weekend.

"The Wizard of Oz" performance featured over 43 skaters and there was a good turn out of spectators.

Club President, Linda Kutschall says the Carnival has always been a popular event. "Well, with skating of course we don't have things through out the year that the kids can go to and watch and parents can see. So, the end of the year is always a big deal for us cause it's the only time we get to showcase our skaters. So it's always well received and is always well attended."

This year Kutschall says they ran their program twice a week instead of once a week and that's what brought out more skaters.

Admission to "The Wizard of Oz" was by donation and they had a raffle table as well as raise funds which go back into the club.

No final dollar amounts are available yet, but organizers say they are looking at around $2,000  profit.
