National Gardening Week takes place June 6-12.

Shaunavon Wellness and Leisure will be holding a Tiny Sprouts Youth Gardening Workshop June 10 at Memorial Park to help children plant seeds to grow indoors, and then send them home with the youngsters with tips on how to look after them and plant them outdoors when they're ready.

Anna Morin is the Summer Active Coordinator for Shaunavon Wellness and Leisure. She says they will be holding two sessions on the 10th.

"There are two sessions that I will be doing. The first is for ages five and under and the child must be accompanied by an adult, so a parent or guardian, or a sibling at least 12 years of age. And that one will will be 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. And then, the second session is for ages six and up, and that's from 5 to 6 p.m."

The Workshop is free of charge.

There are limited spots available so children should pre-register using the form on the Wellness and Leisure or Town of Shaunavon social media pages.
