Cypress Health Region 2 460x346

The Cypress Health Region is marking World No Tobacco Day today, and raising awareness of the harmful effects of smoking and tobacco use.

Health Promotion Co-ordinator Casey Johnson says there are a number of ongoing initiatives to help reduce tobacco use in both current smokers and for future generations, including a call for a province-wide ban on flavoured tobacco.

“In Saskatchewan there has been an increase in Tobacco use in our youth. That is always a concern as they are our future generation. We just want to create awareness and let them know what options exist,” says Johnson.

Johnson adds the public can find more information on tobacco products and World No Tobacco Day at cypresshealth.ca.
