Two people have died after a traffic crash near Elrose Sunday night.

RCMP say a 54-year-old man and 32-year-old woman from the Elrose area were killed when their car collided head-on with another vehicle 30 kilometres west of Elrose on Highway 44 at around 8:00pm.

A 23-year-old woman in the other car was injured and sent to hospital in Saskatoon. Emergency crews needed the jaws of life to free her from the vehicle.

The collision remains under investigation and police say road conditions were good at the time.

This continues a deadly stretch of accidents on Saskatchewan roads, with a total now of six people killed in four separate collisions since Friday night.
