Cases for three men still facing kidnapping charges after a summer incident were pushed back three weeks in Swift Current Provincial Court yesterday.

Four Manitoba men were charged with kidnapping after a man was allegedly dragged from a Swift Current residence into a a vehicle and driven to Manitoba on June 13, before escaping the next day and returning to Saskatchewan.

Christopher Roskam entered a guilty plea to the lesser charge of forcible confinement on August 1, receiving a 90-day sentence, but Christopher Drover, Robert Ballingall, and David Joss still face kidnapping charges.

Yesterday defence lawyer Adrian McBride entered a written election by Ballingall to proceed by judge only in Queen's Bench court. If either Drover or Joss elected to proceed by jury, that would mean all three would have to take that route, should their matters go to trial.

Matters for Drover, Ballingall, and Joss were adjourned to December 19 at 10:30 a.m. in Swift Current Provincial Court.

Correction: It was originally reported that Drover, Ballingall, and Joss were scheduled to reappear on December 12, but it is really December 19.
