Advanced Education, Employment, and Immigration Minister Rob Norris isn't concerned by mixed numbers in the province's employment stats.

Decreases in part-time employment are said to be the cause of some mixed results when looking at the latest job numbers from Stats Canada.

Saskatchewan's unemployment rate dropped to 4.5 per cent, but regionally, the Swift Current-Moose Jaw area saw its jobless rate go up from 3.5 to 3.8 per cent in August.

Advanced Education, Employment and Immigration Minister Rob Norris says despite that, Saskatchewan as a whole is still looking in good shape economically.

Norris adds the mixed results relates to the loss of part-time employment, and adds the province added 1500 new full-time jobs month-over-month.
