Premier Brad Wall is defending his first budget since the Sask Party was re-elected. It passed in the legislature last week.

Wall responded to the NDP criticism that the budget favoured politicians over people because of the proposed future addition of three new MLAs to the province, “750,000 dollars would be the cost of three more. We've already said look we're going to absorb those within the cost of the current Saskatchewan legislative assembly budget. So there will simply be no more cost for this. I guess it's a way for the NDP to do their spin but it's simply not true.”

Wall said our province has grown significantly and the electoral map is drawn up based on the census.

The provincial government forecasts revenues of $11.3 billion and spending of $11.2 billion.

Wall adds that they made tough choices so they could fund priorities like health care and education while making sure the budget stayed balanced.
