Premier Brad Wall's war of words with federal NDP leader Thomas Mulcair continues.

The two have taken different sides on the impact the oil and gas boom has had on the price of the Canadian dollar and the health of the manufacturing sector.

Wall fired back after Mulcair called him a messenger for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, saying "This is a man who wants to be Prime Minister, and rather than reconsider it and understand that Western Canada's economic strength is good for the country, he takes another run at leaders in the west who have expressed opposition to his view, and have actually tried to demonstrate, along with economists, that he is wrong."

Wall referenced a Stats Canada report that manufacturing sales increased 1.9% in March to $49.7 billion, the largest jump since September 2011. "We see in this report that in Canada, where there is a strong resorce sector and a strong dollar, manufacturing is moving in the right direction," Wall said. "That's been the case in Saskatchewan for some time, our manufacturing increased in the same report year-over-year by eight per cent."

The report indicated that the gain was led by the petroleum and coal products industry.

Wall added Mulcair's facts are wrong and what he's doing is very divisive.
