The Wellness and Leisure Committee of the Town of Shaunavon has decided to help skaters warm up this winter season with a Warm Up Shack that is located at the Outdoor Skating Rink by the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Center.

Director of Operations for The Town of Shaunavon, Ron Phillips, says this is a welcome addition to the site. "It was recognized that we needed some sort of Warm Up Shack for the Outdoor Rink. It's always nice to  have a spot that is you get cold you can go in..take your skates off, put them on, or just to warm up while you're skating."

Phillips says the Warm Up Shack cost $12,000. The structure, which measures 12 x 12, comes complete with heat, lights and a bench.

He adds that, even tho the ice isn't great right now due to the warmer weather, it will improve as temperatures dip. Everyone is welcome to use the Warm Up Shack when they're at the Outdoor Rink.
