Swift Current's Walmart the day after the fire

Walmart customers had to evacuate the store Sunday due to a small fire above the photo lab.

"There was a little trouble with one of the heating/cooling rooftop units," said Swift Current Fire Captain Trevor Braun. "It put a little smoke and ash in the photo lab at Walmart. Quite minor. Just causes a little havoc throughout the store. The fire was contained to an electrical junction box on a rooftop heater."

Staff evacuated customers before the fire department even got there.

"It was quite orderly," Braun said.

It was a quick job that took less than approximately two hours, but Braun couldn't say if it would require any major repairs.
