A routine traffic stop just outside the city over the weekend has resulted in a Winnipeg man being held in Swift Current and waiting to be returned to Manitoba.
RCMP traffic services pulled over a silver vehicle travelling west along the Trans-Canada Highway just east of the city for a registration violation on Saturday afternoon around 3:20 pm. Shortly after they determined that one of the passengers was 18 year old Cody Joseph Kakeeway, who has an outstanding warrant for murder dating back to December 7th with Winnipeg Police Service.
Winnipeg police are set to arrive in Swift Current to pick up Kakeeway over the next couple of days and will return him back to Manitoba.
