Work on the Sask Landing Bridge on Highway 4 was originally scheduled to be complete by the end of October.

That work will now continue throughout the winter and into the upcoming construction season.

Steve Shaheen, a senior communications consultant with the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, said the speed through the area won't change in the winter.

"The surface work on the southbound lane is almost complete, but it will require a temporary surface over the winter months and until the surface needs to be done next summer. Motorists should be aware, though, that there will be some slower speeds in the area, even throughout the winter months."

Crews have been working to remove old concrete on the bridge and engineers have found some extra repairs that are needed, which is delaying the completion of the project.
