The court case for the man charged with theft from the York Hotel in Swift Current early this month has ended.

Stuart Serson of Regina was given a 120-day jail sentence this morning by Judge Karl Bazin in Swift Current Provincial Court. Serson's sentence also includes a 30-day term for a separate incident that will be served concurrently.

He was originally in court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft under $5,000 and also pleaded guilty to a Regina-based charge of a breach of probation from September 2016.

The theft under $5,000 charge occurred on February 17, when Serson stole money out of the VLT cash register at the York Hotel and fled on foot. He was caught later that day by the Moose Jaw Police Services en route to Regina International Airport via a taxi from Swift Current.
