All Swift Current residents are being warned there will be a zombie apocalypse in the city tonight.

The long awaited premiere for the Swift Current made Zombageddon goes tonight at the Sky Centre at 7:30pm, with the doors opening at 6:30.

"Zombageddon is a locally made film, it's all volunteer actors and make-up artists and cinematographers and everyone just donating their time," said Actor and Director Bob Dueck, "the movie itself is about a zombie apocalypse and a group of survivors and how they're all intertwined."  Full Interview with Brian Dueck

He added it started small with just a couple friends getting together joking about it and spiralled into what you will see on screen tonight.

"Bob Taylor and Devon Oman, and their friend Logan Demorest got together to watch a horror movie one night, they picked a random horror movie and thought 'wow, that's terrible, we can do better than that'.  So they sat down and wrote a script and they put the call out, and from there it just kind of grew and grew we got Gerry Monkman signed on as a cinematographer and camera man."

They also have something special planned for the premiere, and everyone is encouraged to dress up.

"We are giving away prizes for best costume and scariest costume, and there will be door prizes donated from local businesses."

You can get tickets at Pharmasave or Creative video for $7, or at the door tonight, with all proceeds going to the SPCA.
