Thanks to Nic Dancey for passing this info along. Seeing as how the Cypress Hills got several feet of snow over the May long weekend, here's another chance to go have a good time there...
The Elkwater Fire Department and Cypress Hills Provincial Park are pleased to announce the 2010 Cypress Hills Safeway Walk for Muscular Dystrophy being held along the lakeshore of Elkwater Lake, Alberta on Parks Day, Saturday, July 17, 2010. Registration will begin at 10:00 am at the Elkwater Visitor Centre with the Opening Ceremonies commencing at 11:00 am. Please join us for a 1 km, 2km or 4 km Walk. This family event also includes a public barbeque followed by a fun-filled day of activities ending with fireworks!!
At last year’s event, we witnessed an overwhelming sense of community pride with over 100 walkers, 200 barbeque participants, countless volunteers and over 1500 people taking in the entire day’s activities and raising over $13,000. We are so grateful for your incredible support and would like to ask you to please help us reach this year’s goal of 200 walkers and raising $20,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
To register and receive a pledge sheet, visit www.muscle.ca/walk, stop by the Visitor Centre, or contact us. If you have any questions, would like to be kept informed of event schedule and other updates or need additional pledge sheets, please contact O’Brien Tarnasky 403.893.3777ext.202 / O’[email protected] or Nicole Dancey 403.893.8905 / [email protected].
