If you remember back in the 1980s, Canada was captivated by the Man in Motion World Tour, where Rick Hansen circled the globe in his wheelchair, and now another person is looking to do the same to help put an end to cancer.
Andrew Nicholson is a cyclist who is attempting to set a world record by circumnavigating the world on his bicycle, while raising awareness and money for the Te Aho Matatū Centre for Translation Cancer Research. He started out from BC on August 12th and arrived in Swift Current on Wednesday with his ride taking him east on the Trans-Canada Highway today.
If you see him biking along Highway 1 this afternoon, slow down and wish him luck on his journey! You can learn more about the Te Aho World Ride, track Andrew's journey, and support him along the way by visiting http://www.teahoworldride.com/.
