Cirque le Masque is described on the Living Sky Casino Website as
In Paris, Athens, Dubai, Caracas as well as in numerous other world capitals, and in cities across the U.S. from Las Vegas to Atlantic City, audiences have been thrilled by the theatrical wizardry of the extraordinary international troupe, Cirque Le Masque. The gravity-defying performers of Cirque Le Masque bring an entirely new dimension to aerial acrobatics and the circus arts. In this sophisticated, animal free European-style circus, brilliantly costumed jugglers, acrobats, comics, and aerialists perform gasp-inducing acts of balance, grace, strength and detailed teamwork, set to spellbinding special effects and creatively inventive lighting, choreography and music. Carnivale is filled with energy, color and an original story line. It is the ultimate theatrical experience!
So how did the audience in the place 'Where Life Makes Sense" like a total escape from reality?
At 7:50, as people took their seats, an unusual, androgynous masked figure appeared from the curtains. The figure wore a tight plaid body suit, a plaid mask with a costumed belly and large costumed buttocks. As...it...greeted the crowd and posed for pics with the audience, we all knew we were in for something different and special.
At 8pm we began our journey. The audience follows a young lady on her getaway. A getaway where she meets dancers, a skilled mime who brings a suitcase to life and a man who can use big red sheets to fly into the rafters of the Sky Center and twirl large metal objects. There are acrobats, jugglers and man who was seemingly ripped from the cover of a romance novel who can do scintillating things with a hamster wheel like apparatus.
Swift Current needed a show like this at this time. Cirque le Masque is an escape from reality into a dream world. In our real world the rain won't stop, our beloved football team is coming off an embarassing loss, and farmers are looking at the sky when they should be in the field. For just under two hours, the real world outside the Sky Center walls disappeared, and cirque le masque drew us into their bizarre and entertaining universe.
Best show I've seen at the Sky Center. Almost two hours of jaw dropping feats of strength, comedy with audience participation, dancers, jugglers and acrobats. This show hit the Sky Center last year, and hopefully will be back next year. Bring your imagination.
Strongly recommended...even though a large metal triangle slipped out of a performers hands and into the front row. No one was hurt.
