Frontier Days 2015 kicked off on Thursday, and it was another fun start to the fair. Lots of kids and families were having fun at the midway and the Family Fun Zone, and a lot of them stopped by our RV from Sterling Trailers in Medicine Hat to get stickers, tattoos, and to get entered for our prize draws! This year, we're giving away a barbecue, zero-gravity recliner and a wooden cooler from Peavey Mart in Swift Current, which we'll make the draws for on Monday.
The first day of the fair wrapped up with the opening grandstand event featuring the Knights of Valour, bringing their high-energy live, unscripted jousting event to Swift Current for the first time.
Today, the fun continues with the midway and Mennonite Heritage Village opening at 12:00 noon, Doc's Town opening at 1:00pm, and the first performance of the CCA Rodeo set for 7:00pm at Jerry Myers Arena. The rest of the weekend will feature grandstand entertainment from Chilliwack and Tim Hicks on Saturday night, and Link Union and Lonestar on Sunday, presented by Robertson Family Group. Also, the Frontier Days Parade will start from the Credit Union iplex at 10:00am Saturday then make its way downtown, there will be two more rodeo performances at 2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, and the fair all wraps up with the Living Sky Casino fireworks show at 11:00pm Sunday night!
