Clayton & Shelia Wicks Love Story:
Details of first date:
Although we went to the same school, we were not high school sweethearts. It was after we both graduated and both had moved to Swift Current before we ventured on our first date. We attended a Good Brothers concert in the basement of the Elks Hall. There was only about 30 of us there and we sat on hall chairs and listened to “Red Neck Mother” “Brown-Eyed Girl” “Fox on the Run” “Kitty Star” and many more. After the concert, we finished off the evening with a few drinks at the local “watering hole” Healy Hotel.
How long we have been together:
Things progressed steadily after that date for about a year and then we got engaged. Married eight months after that. Our 35th anniversary is in May so we have been together for about 37 years. Without doubt, we have been in love unconditionally. We can say we’ve seen good time and hard times but our love has kept us together.
What we love most about each other:
Our unconditional love for each other, our son, our daughter, their spouses and our grandkids and the love being returned is without question most valuable quality in our lives.
