We have some bad news for Marianas Trench fans who had planned to see them in concert in Medicine Hat or Saskatoon or were hoping to win tickets next week.

The band announced on Friday they are postponing the start of their Last Crusade tour, including shows at the Canalta Centre on November 9 and the SaskTel Centre on November 10. Marianas Trench lead singer Josh Ramsay continues to recover from a throat infection that forced them to cancel part of a European tour earlier this month. The show in Saskatoon has been rescheduled to February 6, 2017, but the band was unable to reschedule the concert in Medicine Hat.

The following is a personal note from Josh posted by the band

“No one is more disappointed about this than I am… Unfortunately, we must postpone some of our upcoming tour dates. My throat infection and resulting scar tissue is serious enough that my doctor's diagnosis was for me to not sing a note until the New Year. However, I can't handle this forcing me to cancel a second tour in a row completely, so I've chosen to postpone the first half of the tour to give my voice a little extra time to recuperate. With enough vocal rest and medicine, I should be back in fighting shape in no time. Unfortunately we weren’t able to reschedule all the shows, and we’ll have to see our fans in Sault Ste. Marie and Medicine Hat a little further down the road!”

Tickets for the November 10 show in Saskatoon will be honoured on the new concert date of February 6.

Meanwhile, refunds will be available to those who purchased tickets to the cancelled Medicine Hat concert. If you bought those tickets online or over the phone with a credit card, the refund should be automatically applied to your card. If you bought them from the Canalta Centre Box Office, you need to travel to Medicine Hat and return your tickets to the box office (2802 Box Springs Way NW) to receive your refund. You can call the Canalta Centre at 403-905-0050 if you have any questions.

Also, because of the concert cancellation, our Marianas Trench ticket giveaway, "We're Puzzled… Where's Colin", will not be going ahead as planned on Monday. We were looking forward to giving you a chance to win tickets to the show, and we're sorry that we have to cancel this contest. However, we hope to try it again soon for a different prize, so stay tuned!
