The excitement for Rogers Hometown Hockey is continuing to build in Swift Current. Setup of the festival site on Central Avenue and Market Square is just about complete, and everything should be ready to go for the weekend.

Nicole Spenst from the City of Swift Current joined us again this morning to talk about the traffic restrictions, and about the places where you can warm up on what is expected to be a chilly weekend...

The weekend kicks off with a pancake breakfast at the Legion Hall Saturday morning at 10:00am, and then the events at the festival site will begin at 12:00 noon.

One of the hosts for the Rogers Hometown Hockey broadcast, Tara Sloane, arrived in Swift Current yesterday, and helped the Swift Current Broncos load up the bus for their road trip to Brandon this morning. She'll also be on hand for tonight's sold out launch of the Safe Places initiative and screening of Sheldon Kennedy's "Swift Current" at the Sky Centre.

Tara took some time to talk with the Magic Morning Show today.

Magic 97 will be part of the fun as well, broadcasting live from the event both Saturday and Sunday from the Highway One Auto Mall. Stop by our booth at Market Square and you can enter to win some great prizes, including Boston Pizza gift cards, tickets to see Disturbed at Mosaic Place on February 22nd, and some prizes from Highway One Auto Mall throughout the weekend!
