Trailview Alliance Church youth pastor Duane Reimer visited the Magic Morning Show on Halloween to talk about the Salvation Army Food Drive, which was taking place on Friday night with lots of volunteers picking up food donations from houses across Swift Current. There were also designated drop-off locations throughout the city AND at the Swift Current Broncos game on Friday night.
Duane messaged me yesterday to let us know that a whopping 8,500 POUNDS OF FOOD were collected/dropped off during the 3 hour Food Drive on Halloween Night. Amazing!
Should be a HUGE help for the local Salvation Army Food Bank!

The first Food Bank opened in Edmonton, AB in 1981, and the first Food Banks were initially intended to be a temporary measure to help those in need - but it quickly became apparent that there was a need for the Food Banks to keep their doors open permanently.
More than 40% of Canadians know someone who has utilized a Food Bank.
