The Ford World Women's Curling Championship is well underway in Swift Current, and it's been a great start to the week from the action on the ice to the party at the patch! Chelsea Carey and her Calgary rink are off to a great start winning all three of their games so far, and they have two against Russia and Sweden today.
More than 12,000 fans went through the doors at the Credit Union iplex this weekend, and that number will only go higher as the week goes on. There's still some tickets left, but you have to get them right away at curling.ca/tickets or the Stable at the iplex, so you don't miss out on this big event.
Anita won tickets this morning as the big winner of last week's Carey us to Victory contest!
I got to take in the curling on the weekend, and met with some great curling fans in town for the week. One of them is Dave Phillips of Red Deer, who has been collecting curling pins for around 40 years and trading them at Curling Canada events.
Speaking of pins, there have been a few people asking us for the Golden West sponsor pin at the event, and you have a chance to win one by playing Plinko at our booth just outside of the patch. You can also win a pin by playing Name that Flag on Facebook! We'll be posting of one of the flags hanging inside the patch today through Thursday, and the first person to identify it will win a pin!
We'll also be broadcasting live from our booth Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm, so stop by and say hi!
