A 26-year old woman has pled guilty to a drug charge in Swift Current Provincial Court.

Brittany Wiens, currently residing in Swift Current, was charged with possession of methamphetamine (crystal meth).

Judge Karl Bazin heard Wiens' case from Crown Prosecutor Curtis Wiebe, who recommended a suspended sentence of one year.

Judge Bazin agreed to the length of sentence and ordered Wiens to immediately report to probation upon her release.

Conditions of Wiens' release include no contact with Dwayne Gilbertson, Kayleigh Braithwaite, and Diamond Meszaros, the three others charged in the 1st Ave NE drug raid on October 18th.

Wiens, who admitted to dealing with drug addiction, must also refrain from any drug use and also undergo an assessment for her addiction. She must also continue use of Methadone for previous use of heroin.

Other conditions of her release include a probation-approved residence and mental health assessment/person counselling.

Wiens also was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, but the charge was stayed.

As well, Dwayne Gilbertson's case has been postponed until tomorrow morning at 9:30am.
