This year is the 40th anniversary of Dino Days in Eastend and the community is celebrating.

All the fun kicks off today at ten a.m. with the Golf and Curl Classic. Also at three p.m. this afternoon it's the Ken Mitchell Spirit of the Trail.

Eastend Mayor Alan Howard has more.

"At 5:30pm there will be a Western Cowboy Supper followed by a cowboy campfire entertainment for a couple hours and that is taking place at the rodeo grounds. Then after that there is going to be a pre-fireworks fun a cretaceous craft and fiery nighttime tour of the T-Rex venue."

The fun continues Saturday with a pancake breakfast and parade, the Mini Chuckwagon Races and family activities all day at the T Rex Center.

"Then on Saturday we start the day with our pancake breakfast down in front of the rink complex at 7:30am. Then at 10:00am, ice cream floats are going to be served in the town square and then obviously the parade starts at 11:00am."

On Sunday take in the interdenominational church service at eleven at the United Church. The Eastend Light Horse Show also goes Sunday morning starting at eight.
