The fourth and final incumbent has been elected back into City Council.

George Bowditch, who fell ill and missed the All-Candidates Forum, received the fifth most votes in the election, tallying 1822.

Moments after the final results were tallied, Bowditch reflected on the whole election process, which led to Bowditch being elected to his third term.

"I'm very excited and very relieved. It was a very interesting campaign this year with so many candidates.

It's a real honour and I'm very humbled by the support of the people in the community to give me a chance to represent them again," he said.

Bowditch re-iterated his excitement for another term on Council and thanked the Council members who are moving on.

"I really appreciate the work that Mayor Schafer and Councillor Budd did in the past.

Right now we have some new members - I know both Bruce and Chris very well and I think they'll be awesome contributors to Council. It'll be very exciting to have a Mayor like Denis as well," he said.

Bowditch is joined in Council Chambers by the new Mayor - and former Councillor - Denis Perrault, along with Councillors Ryan Plewis, Pat Friesen, Ron Toles, Bruce Deg, and Chris Martens.

The group will be officially sworn in on November 7th, their first Council meeting of the new term.
