The Swift Current City RCMP made a large drug and weapons bust last Friday with the help of the police dog services.

They executed a search warrant in the 300 block of 9th Avenue Northwest sometime on Friday recovering 100 grams of cocaine, 24 grams of methamphetamine, about $9,000 in cash, dozens of weapons, and several other items indicative of drug trafficking.

A 36-year-old male was arrested and now faces eight charges as a result of the search warrant.

The charges include two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of drug trafficking, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He was released from custody with a justice release order.

He's scheduled to appear in court on February 17 and his name won't be released until the charges are filed with the court.
