It was a pretty competitive field of golfers teeing off at the Elmwood Golf Club on Monday competing in the RBC PGA Scramble tournament.

Twenty-one of the 24 groups managed to fire a total net score of under 60, with the winners shooting a 49.4, for a two-stroke win.

The winning group moving on to provincials includes Jason Silzer, Todd Hornung, Tim Hopfner, and Trevor Feicht who managed to shoot a pair of 28's.

The second-place group was compiled of Rod Grose, Conrad Funk, Shayne Grose, and Blaine Fehr who had a net score of 51.4. They'll also move onto provincials as well.

Silzer said this was the first time he's competed in the tournament and that they got a little bit lucky.

"Was a really good tournament," he said. "The weather was good, a little windy, but it was a good day overall. We were one of the groups that was lucky enough to finish before the lightning delay and storm delay."

The duo of foursomes moving on will play at the Wascana Country Club on September 14 for the provincial title, something Silzer is looking forward too.

"We're going to proudly represent Swift Current along with the other foursome that made it and we'll see if we can get Swift Current on the map in provincials for us all," he said.
