Swift Current city council has decided which members will be representing the city on a variety of local boards and committees.

City council passed a motion last Monday night to have at least one member of council on 18 different boards and committees in Swift Current.

"There's quite a few that all of council sits on," Swift Current Mayor Al Bridal said. "We did talk to all of council and see what their interests were, and tried to appoint all of council to the committees that they were interested in. A few people got some that they weren't quite interested in but I do appreciate all of council stepping up."

City councillors Ryan Plewis, Pat Friesen, Ryan Switzer, and Leanne Tuntland-Wiebe will all serve on the most boards, four each in total.

The appointments run from this past Monday's council meeting, until December 31, 2022.

The city will also rotate the deputy mayor position moving forward with each councillor serving for two months at a time. Councillor Ryan Plewis served in this role in the past by himself from 2012 until this past council meeting.
