In the December 5 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 70 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province. 

Of those 70 new cases, there are 5 in the North West zone, 10 in the North Central zone, 15 in the Saskatoon zone, 11 in the Central East zone, 7 in the Regina zone, 8 in the South-Central zone, and 11 in the South East zone. 

There were no new cases in the South West zone. 

There are 3 cases with pending residence information. 

Of 3 cases with pending residence information, 1 was assigned to the North Central zone, 1 to the Regina zone, and one to the South West zone. 

There are 696 cases are considered active in the province, and 79,738 cases are considered recovered. 

Over one-quarter (28.6%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39. 

One in seven (14.9%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 5 years and older) were fully vaccinated 

As of today, a total of 132 individuals are hospitalized, including 101 inpatient hospitalizations and 31 ICU hospitalizations.  

Of the 132 patients, 88 (66.7%) were not fully vaccinated. 

There are 3 residents in out of province ICUs. 

There were no new deaths reported today. 

To date, 1,287,667 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.  

There were 2,048 COVID-19 vaccines administered yesterday, 82 of those in the South West zone. 

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1 760 834. 

There are now 840,136 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
