Dino Days in Eastend kicks off tonight with a fireworks display.

The fireworks will go tonight at dusk at the Ball Diamonds.

Then, on Saturday, things get into full swing first thing in the morning, as Angie Jones from The Dino Days Committee explained, "The parade will start at 11. At 11:30 at the Town Square we have our Trade Show and Taste of the Southwest. Basically, lots of small businesses coming with the cool stuff they make, or people with vegetables to sell and all that kind of thing will be there. And then we're going to have a few local food vendors."

There will also be some local artists performing during The Trade Show.

As part of the Parade, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the discovery of Scotty, the world's largest T-Rex, The Shriner's will be appearing with their Dino Unit, featuring life size raptors.

The day will include a bouncy castle, petting zoo, and a monster sprinkler for the kids.

Angie Jones explained the afternoon's events, "Then in the afternoon at 4 o'clock starts the Beer Gardens down at the Ball Diamonds, and we're gonna have a barbecue there. And at 6 o'clock we're gonna have a Home Run Derby down there as well, and basically just some music and hang out."

Also Saturday at 4 p.m. is the Grand Opening of the Historical Museum New Building, and the T Rex Discovery Center will be having all sorts of activities throughout the day.

Finish up the weekend on Sunday with the Community Church Service at 10 a.m. at The United Church, as well as the Light Horse Show from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
