Lots of kids still came out for the annual Kiwanis Coin Carnival in Swift Current on Friday afternoon even though it was 40 C.

Kids and families flocked to Riverdene Park to partake in fun games and activities of all kinds to win some prizes.

The non-profit event had games such as go fish, pin the tail on the monkey and a fun old fashioned bouncy castle.

It also had lots of treats such as cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn for anyone wanting to enjoy a snack in the heat.

Summer Programs Co-ordinator for the City of Swift Current Erykah Pool said the annual event went well despite the heat.

"This event means a lot to me because it's something I work on all summer," she said. "It's nice to see people come out and enjoy the weather, and the food, and all the activities."

Last year roughly 350 people came to partake in the fun. This year, due to the heat wave, roughly around 150 people attended.

Pool also mentioned that she is looking forward to next years Coin Carnival with the hopefully cooler weather.
