Kaitlyn Neustaeter

The McIntyre Family Foundation launched its Dream Big Prairie Healthcare Scholarship program at the Swift Current Comp Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Neustaeter was one of the 6 recipients presented with a scholarship and says it will help build the career that she wants by helping others.

"I really have dreams of helping people with disabilities to find their rights and independence. That dreams applies to anyone who is vulnerable in our society and particular in southwest Saskatchewan." She adds, "I really just want to help those individuals who are being missed or be the voice for the voiceless. This money helps me jumpstart my career. "

Neustaeter is currently in her 4th year of social work at University of Regina through Great Plains College in Swift Current. She says it’s great to be supported in the community.

"I guess it is just a realization of my dream of going to university and just knowing that there are people out there that care about dreaming big and getting a scholarship like this means that it will help me pay off some of my student loans and reach my professional highs," said Neustaeter.

She is planning on staying in Southwest Saskatchewan as she finishes up her program and starts her career.

The McIntyre Family Foundation still has over $361,000 in Scholarships to give away this year.
