SaskMusic recently announced the nominees for the 2020 Saskatchewan Music Awards, and a local band of brothers are nominated in two categories.

The Hunter Brothers of Shaunavon are nominated in both the Country Artist of the Year category, and in the Single of the Year category for their song "Hard Dirt".

JJ Hunter says he and his brothers are very humbled by the nominations. "We are always honored when we get nominated for any sort of award. It's  never expected, it's not why we do the music, but it is always an honor. And when you see the other artists that are up for the awards and being included in those groups is a real pleasure for us, and we're very thankful."

Other southwest Saskatchewan artists nominated include Swift Current's Eliza Doyle, and The Moonrunners.

The Saskatchewan Music Awards will be live streamed on SaskMusic's social media pages on January 24.
