A car enthusiast in Wiseton is looking for information and any history on a 1953 Morris J Type van used as a delivery service at the Pioneer Coop in the 50s and early 60s.

Only 47,000 of the Morris vans were built from 1949 to 1963 with various upgrades during the production run.

"What I'm trying to find out is some information, background information, trying to track down somebody who possibly drove it, it has Pioneer Coop Delivery service written on the side, so that's what I'm trying to find is a little bit of archive history on the van," said Tony Hill, who purchased the van almost 8 years ago.

He is looking for the history on the vehicle as he continues to restore the van and get it running.

"I'm now just starting to get it restored, I've got mechanics ready to go back in and looking to get it repainted, and getting it back to the same sign writing that was on it originally at the Pioneer Coop," said Hill.

Hill says that he has found out so far that his van is very rare, it is only one of three in the world.

"I'd like to know if there's somebody like an uncle, aunt, father, somebody who worked for the Coop that maybe drove that van that I would dearly love to get in touch with even if they have some pictures of the van in its hay day," said Hill.

If you know anything about this van, contact Hill at 306-357-4827 or email him at award@yourlink.ca.
