The Primary Health Care Clinic at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Center is a fundamental access point for residents of Shaunavon and area requiring non-emergent medical care.

The Cypress Health Region is reminding patients that the Shaunavon Clinic is not a walk in clinic. Persons needing to see a doctor or a nurse practitioner should schedule an appointment by phoning 306-297-1940.

The Health Region also reminds everyone about the importance of cancelling appointments that are no longer needed.

Greg Grant is the Director of Primary and Public Health Care for the Cypress Health Region. He says, "We've had about an average of 28 no shows per month at the Shaunavon Clinic. That works out to approximately 3% of all appointments do not show up. So, when someone doesn't show up for an appointment then that takes the opportunity away from someone else to have a physician or nurse practitioner appointment."

Grant adds to please remember, as well, that the Emergency Department at the Shaunavon Hospital is for emergencies only such as heart attack, stroke, loss of consciousness or convulsions.

Other medical needs can be met by making an appointment at the Clinic.
