The Southwest Chronic Disease Support Group held their Annual General Meeting last week in Shaunavon.

They are a non-profit charity that was formed to help those people in southwest communities needing financial assistance when traveling to medical treatments and appointments. They also offer help with at home assistance.

Secretary for the group, Brenda Waldron, says they had three Board members come back by acclamation, but are still looking for one more from the Climax/Frontier area. She says they took a look at the past year and looked ahead to the next year. "Our goals are to get us more known in the southwest corner, getting a Board Member from down, in what we consider, the South Country, and having some really good fundraisers and help a lot of people."

Since the group's inception they have approved 33 applications for a total of $19,763.45.
