The Swift Current Skating Club invites everyone to join them on the yellow brick road for this year's Ice Show coming up later this week.

The annual event is set to take place at the InnovationPlex on Sunday, March 24 starting at 2 p.m. It will feature a musical production of around 110 skaters helping to bring 'The Wizard of Oz' to life in Swift Current.

Stephanie Steinley, treasurer for Swift Current Skating Club, is excited for the skaters to be able to show off the skills they've been working hard on.

"Our skaters are going to be skating to songs from the old, original version as well as the new version," said Steinley. "The kids have been working really hard the last three weeks just getting ready for this."

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth, and free admission for children five years and under.

"We just like to do different movies that we can kind of follow along to," Steinley noted. "We thought this one would be a fun one to do, lots of fun, colourful, exciting songs and costumes."

All ages of skaters, from three years old up to adults, will join one another on-ice for the grande finale at the end of the hour-and-a-half-long carnival.

"It's going to be decorated just like you're walking into Oz and walking down the yellow brick road, so we're very excited about it," said Steinley.
