Our furry friends had the chance to sit on Santa's lap this past weekend during the SPCA Santa Paws event.

Amanda Huxted, Development Officer for the SPCA provides details on the event.

"Mr & Mrs. Clause came into Cowtown and anybody could bring any type of animal they wanted. A chicken actually came to get a picture taken with Santa so that was kind of different and a first for Santa. We had lots of dogs, and a few cats, and some kids came as well."

Huxted provides details on where the funds raised from the event are distributed.

"Everything just for the basic needs of the shelter since COVID has hit things have been on a little bit of a downfall with not holding any events so everything just goes to the SPCA."

In total over 70 pets and owners came to take a photo with Santa with over $640 raised

Huxted adds that they are looking towards putting out a cookbook in the new year and you might also catch the SPCA popping up at various places over the holiday season.
