Still a Renter's Market in Swift Current

Vacancy rates are down and rent is up in Swift Current over the last year.

Despite the drop, our city still has the highest vacancy rates of all the major centres in Saskatchewan.

It dropped from 7.5% to 6.3% over the last year. That compares to an average of 1.9% provincially and is double the vacancy rate of every other major centre in Saskatchewan except for Lloyminster.

Thanks in part to the higher vancancy rate, rent in Swift Current is on average the lowest in the province. The average renter pays $658 dollars a month here, an increase of 35 dollars from last year. Meanwhile, the average monthly rent throughtout Saskatchewan is $838 with a high of $948 in Estevan.
