Swift Current Live 2

Swift Current Live is now available to listeners and readers of Golden West Radio. With this new app readers can still get all the local news and sports that Swift Current Online can offer but now it adds hourly weather forecast and satellite radar imagery, classifieds, events and much more. The newest part of the application is the notifications section. This is a customizable application that the reader can subscribe to a variety of alerts. This means that you get the information you want and filter out what you don't.

Mike Saretsky, General Sales Manager for Golden West Radio, explains the details of the Notifications section. He said, "What Swift Current Live is going to be is the first community focused, very local app. It's going to do what other apps can do, but on a Swift Current level."

As a lot of the information will be coming from the existing website of www.swiftcurrentonline.com, Saretsky is quick to point out that the app does not replace it. He said, "Absolutely not, Swift Current Online has become the daily newspaper for people in Swift Current. Swift Current Live is just going to add to that experience."

The most exciting part of the app is the Notification section for Saretsky. He said, "The real feature of this app is push notifications. So whatever you are interested in Swift Current you can sign up for that channel. If you sign up, for example, the city of Swift Current channel and they are closing down this road you will get a notification saying this road is closed."
