In the December 2 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 71 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 71 new cases there are 3 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North East zone, 11 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 3 in the North East zone, 13 in the Saskatoon zone, 12 in the Central East zone, 8 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 10 in the South East zone.

There is 1 new confirmed case in the South West zone - in South West subzone 1.

There is 1 new case with pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the Central East zone.

Almost one-third (31.0%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

Almost one-third (31.9%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 68 (5.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total  number of cases to 81,145, of which 733 are considered active.

There are 17 active cases in the South West zone - 7 in South West subzone 1, and 10 in South West subzone 2.

There is 1 new death reported, bringing the provincial total number of deaths to 928.

There are 72 recoveries reported, 2 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 79,484.

There are 134 people in the hospital - 99 receiving inpatient care, and  35 in intensive care.

Of those 134 people, 90 (67.2%) are not fully vaccinated.

There are 4 Saskatchewan residents receiving out of the province care in hospital.

The Weekly Monitoring Report for Children and Youth aged 0-19 years has been released for the week of November 22-28.

There are a total of 325 active cases in children and youth in the province, with 2 of those having location/residence information unavailable.

Breaking that down - there are 2 in the Far North West zone, 7 in the Far North East zone, 38 in the North West zone, 38 in the North Central zone, 10 in the North East zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 50 in the Central East zone, 50 in the Saskatoon zone, 62 in the Regina zone, 15 in the South Central zone, and 53 in the South East zone.

There are 2 active cases in children and youth in the South West zone, both in South West subzone 2.

To date, there have been 1,282,024 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,318 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

Of the 16,166 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), and 8,549 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There were 5,006 COVID-19 vaccinations administered yesterday in the province, with 208 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1,749,640.

There are now 837,198 Saskatchewan residents that are fully vaccinated.
