For 22 years, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has made special visits to Swift Current and other communities across Canada and the US Midwest to bring holiday cheer, live music, and important donations to local food banks. Last year, the Swift Current Salvation Army Food Bank received $5500 from CP and more cash and food donations from those who attended.

This year's tour had to be cancelled as the global COVID-19 pandemic continues, but CP continued the Holiday Train program with a special virtual concert that was streamed live on Saturday, featuring some big stars like Serena Ryder, the Trews, JoJo Mason, Logan Staats, and Kelly Prescott. In addition, Canadian Pacific is making a $1.24 million donation that will be shared among the local food banks that would receive support on this year's tour.

If you missed the big presentation, or want to catch it again, you can watch it here.

The Salvation Army's local Christmas campaign continues with their familiar Christmas kettles set up at various locations in Swift Current and the Miracle Room open once again at Swift Current Mall. You can also make food bank donations safely at a number of grocery stores in the city and at the Food Bank itself at 780 1st Ave NW.
