In the January 25 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 240 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 240 new cases there are 17 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North Central zone, 3 in the Far North East zone, 33 in the North West zone, 12 in the North Central zone, 36 in the North East zone, 49 in the Saskatoon zone, 5 in the Central West zone, 30 in the Central East zone, 42 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 6 in the South East zone.

There are 3 new cases that have pending residence information.

Three cases with pending residence information were assigned as follows: 1 to the North West zone, 1 to the North Central zone, and 1 to the South East zone.

One previously reported case was deemed to be out of province and removed from the count for Saskatoon.

That brings the provincial total number of cases of COVID-19 to 22,416, of which 3,272 are considered active.

There are currently, 15 active cases in the Southwest zone.

Eleven of those active cases are in the South West 2 zone, which is  the Swift Current area, and 4 active cases are in the South West 1 zone, which is the Shaunavon, Frontier, Gull Lake, Maple Creek area.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 265 (21.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

One Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 has died. The individual was from the North Central zone and in the 80+ age group.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 254.

There remains an outbreak in the South Central zone, at the Assiniboia Union Hospital. An outbreak in non-household setting is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

There were 217 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to18,890.

There are 202 people in hospital. One hundred and seventy are receiving inpatient care - 3 in the Far North West zone, 13 in the North West zone, 27 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 69 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central West zone, and 39 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There are 32 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 14 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 11 in the Regina zone.

There is 1 person in intensive care in the South West zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

To date, 493,132 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

There were 304 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan-this brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 33,353. As of January 24, 102% of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.
